Chapter 668: Surprised, Aren't You?
Lysander quietly opened the door to the hospital room and entered with Stephanie. Natalie lay on the bed, her breathing steady, with various medical devices attached to her showing no signs of abnormality. Lysander tiptoed over, followed closely by Stephanie. Approaching the bed, Stephanie pulled out a photograph to compare, "It's her, what should we do? Take her with us?"
Lysander nodded, "Yes, I'll disconnect the equipment. Get ready to lift her; I'm taking her to the Emerson family to force out who she really is."
"Aren't we going to deal with her?" Stephanie paused, puzzled.
Big brother, if you don't kill her, I can't complete my mission!
"It's illegal to kill her!" Lysander replied matter-of-factly.
Stephanie was furious, thankful she had come along, or she would have failed the mission herself. While Lysander was busy with the equipment, Stephanie stealthily drew a knife from her pocket. She held the knife over Natalie's chest, swallowing nervously. Killing was new to her; she hadn't even killed a chicken before, how could she possibly go through with it? But if Natalie lived, Stephanie would die.
Lysander, this fool, unwilling to do the deed, was useless. It was so dark, Lysander wouldn't see; by the time he noticed, she would have been gone. Even if things went south, their master would handle it. Stephanie bolstered her courage internally, eyes closed, ready to plunge the knife.
Just as she steeled herself to strike, her wrist was caught in a grip as tight as a vice. Already on edge, this sudden grab nearly scared her soul away. Stephanie let out a piercing scream, "Ah!" Her scream lit up the room as the lights flickered on. Stephanie stepped back, unable to move further because her wrist was still held. She looked around.
The room wasn't empty as expected. Tina and Jared were there, along with a woman gripping her wrist with a stern face. Several unfamiliar men glared at her.
And her ally Lysander? He stood among them, smiling at her!
"You... you..."
Overwhelmed, Stephanie's vision darkened, and she fainted.
Angela released her, wiping her palm disdainfully.
"Tina, was she really worth all this fuss?"
Brandon was also puzzled, "Yeah, Angela could have easily handled her!"
Jack nudged Brandon, "My wife is tough enough to deal with this sort too!"
"Why are you so protective? I was just saying!" Brandon rubbed his shoulder.
Gavin stepped forward and placed Stephanie on a couch, "Stop arguing, what should we do with her?"
Isaac approached, "Wow, her face looks terrifying. Lucky Kiki and Mimi aren't here."
Brookes family brothers: Big brother, is that really the point here?
Tina pressed her thumb on Stephanie's philtrum. The unconscious Stephanie gasped and woke up. Opening her eyes, she saw Tina and the Brookes brothers behind her.
"Ah! Help! Don't kill me!"
"You thought of this moment when you pointed a knife at my mom?" Tina lifted her disdainfully.
Stephanie froze, "She... she's your mom?"
Tina's mom looked so young?
"She looks about Jared's age, how can that be!"Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

"You're an orphan, aren't you!"
"You're the orphan!" Jack snapped first.
"Don't talk nonsense, girl, her four uncles are right here, what orphan!" Isaac also chimed in.
"Keep talking and I'll tear your mouth apart!" Gavin threatened.
And Brandon was already moving to do just that!
Tina held back her four uncles, "Alright, uncles, can I please speak to her?"
The men finally stepped back.
Tina pulled up a chair and sat down, Lysander and Jared standing behind her. After the initial shock, Stephanie realized she had been duped by Lysander.
"You deceitful villain, you played the part well."
Stephanie glared at Lysander.
She had been relieved, thinking Lysander had taken the bait, glad her task was completed before Grace's.
"It seems I was fooled."
Lysander chuckled, an impish glimmer in his youthful eyes, "You did say things that moved me, but you forgot one thing."

Lysander raised an eyebrow, "I know Tina better than you think."
Jared glanced at Lysander, almost rolling his eyes-a gesture completely out of character for Mr. Farrell. If Hayden saw this, he'd laugh for a year.
Lysander continued, "You appeared suspicious from the day you approached me and Orson at Kongham University. Our subsequent interactions were to discern your intentions. As for the recent events, I was unaware Tina had found her mother; that was unexpected."
Stephanie gritted her teeth, outplayed at her own game.
"Moreover, you made a fatal error by showing me this photo, revealing your affiliation with the Five Poisons. I, being the leader of the Mountain Veil Order, would obviously know what GTO is about. Such an important photo wouldn't just be lying around at home, and if the person in this photo were in any danger, Tina would certainly know."
Jared interjected, "Your most fatal error was thinking I had a first love. Didn't you know Tina is my first love?"
Lysander looked at Jared disdainfully, "Old man, why chime in?"
Tina reached out, reigning in the conversation as it strayed further.
Tina smiled warmly at Stephanie, her eyes crescent moons of mirth, "Stephanie, we're all family here. We invited you today because we have things to discuss. Can you cooperate?"
Stephanie felt a chill, Tina's kindness more daunting than a slap.
"What do you want to say? I'll tell you everything I know, can we not make this scary?" Stephanie shrank back.
Tina turned to Jared: Am I scary?
Jared: No, my Tina is the kindest.
Stephanie: Are you even hearing yourselves?
