Chapter 682: Edwin's Inquiry
Ray spread his arms in front of him, "Mr. Brookes, madam, elder brothers, Mr. Farrell really cannot leave until we receive a notice. Please, everyone, go back and wait for the news. I assure you, if a single hair on Mr. Farrell's head is harmed, I will pay with my life!"
Tina held the prison access card, "Ray, I'm only listening to this much for your sister's sake, step aside." "Wait a minute!"
At that moment, Boris emerged from inside the prison, his face filled with anger as he confronted Tina.
"Tina, do you think this is your house, that you can come and go as you please? Let me tell you, my dad is still in the hospital fighting for his life, and Jared is the prime suspect, he will not be taken away by you!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a stone struck Boris on the head, hitting him squarely.
Gavin stepped forward, "Who do you think you are, babbling like this? Boris, I'm telling you, if you don't step aside today, I will make you beg for mercy just like before, believe it or not!"
Boris, well aware of Gavin's capabilities, quickly retreated several steps to hide behind Ray, "Gavin, even if you Brookes family cause a scene today, I will not step aside. The matter with my father and Jared is far from over!" Tina's expression was icy as she prepared to rush forward.
Suddenly, Ian pulled her back.
A twitch of her brow, and Tina saw a man in a suit suddenly appear before her, resembling Boris but with a more resolute demeanor.
His skills were clearly superior to Boris's, and even Tina would have to exchange a few moves with him.
Seeing this, Brandon stepped in front of Tina, "Oh, look who it is, if it isn't our esteemed diplomat?"
Edwin ignored Brandon and bowed slightly to Ian, "Uncle Brookes, it's been a while. I apologize for not visiting you immediately upon my return."
"We have met now, Edwin. Do you also wish to intervene in today's matter?" Ian said with a slight smile.
Edwin shook his head, "It's not like that. I understand Miss Reed's urgency to rescue her fiancé, but the situation has not been clarified yet, so naturally, we cannot release Jared. My father hasn't awakened yet, I hope Uncle Brookes can understand our feelings."
Tina suppressed her emotions, realizing this man had a complete grasp of her situation.
Impressive.
As Edwin finished speaking, his gaze fell on Tina, his eyes flickering with obscure light.
For some reason, Tina could see a hint of inquiry in his gaze.
"Edwin, my son-in-law is being mistreated, and I can't stand it. Are you going to release him today or not?" Ian asked sternly.

Edwin clearly did not want to sever ties with the Brookes family, as it would be him who suffered once Leo awoke, "If Miss Reed can make my father wake up now and consult him, I wouldn't object. But if my father doesn't wake up, I cannot release him."
Ian turned back to consult with Tina, who smiled, "Alright."
She had planned to rescue Jared and then visit Leo, but since Edwin had proposed a condition, a swap was not unacceptable.
The important thing was to get Jared out.
Just as Boris was about to say something, Edwin silenced him with a glance.
"Cole, wait here. If Leo disagrees, force your way in!" After instructing Cole, Tina turned to her grandfather and uncles, "Grandpa, uncles, let's go to the hospital together."Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org
Brandon waved his hand dismissively, "You all go, I'll stay here." He knew Tina didn't want the Brookes family involved, but without someone from the Brookes family around, Boris would surely mobilize the Pace family's influence. He couldn't let his niece suffer a disadvantage.
Ian also tacitly agreed, nodding at Tina. Without further ado, Tina quickly headed to the hospital. Behind her, Brandon chuckled, "Edwin, you still put on this sanctimonious act? You haven't changed a bit!"
On the way, Tina couldn't help but ask curiously, "Grandpa, do Uncle Brandon and Edwin have a grudge?" Ian chuckled, "Those two have been competing since they were kids, neither of them willing to back down."
Jack chimed in, "Edwin is much more serious than your Uncle Brandon." Gavin laughed, "There are plenty more serious than Brandon!" Isaac groaned playfully, "Don't talk behind Brandon's back; I bet they'll end up fighting." Hearing this, Tina became even more curious about Edwin, especially since his gaze seemed to carry a deeper meaning today. Soon, Tina arrived at the hospital and went straight to the ICU.
Half an hour later, Edwin's phone rang. He answered with one hand, "Dad? You're awake! Alright, I'll release Jared."
Behind him, Boris, just about to intervene, frowned as the agents from the X Bureau went to open the gate and brought Jared out. Boris's mood soured at the complication.
Jared, dressed in a suit, stepped out, unsure how to react to the scene before him. Brandon reluctantly turned around, "Jared, Tina is waiting at the hospital for you. Go ahead, we'll see you in a bit!" His demeanor was now friendly, a stark contrast to his aggressive stance the day before. Jared nodded, "Alright, Uncle Brandon, you're busy."
After speaking, Jared got into the car. Through the car window, Brandon and Edwin stood shoulder to shoulder, hands clasped so tightly it looked like they might twist each other's arms off.
Inside the hospital, Leo, connected to a respirator, thanked Tina, "You've troubled yourself again, young lady." Tina was nonchalant, "It's nothing, but Leo, do you actually know what happened this time?" Leo shook his head, "Not sure, but it definitely wasn't Jared. I'll handle this investigation myself."
Tina didn't say more, respecting Leo's wish to investigate on his own. Ian looked on meaningfully, "Just don't be too soft-hearted." "I'm not a fool!" Leo retorted with a glance at Ian.
Soon after, Jared knocked on the hospital room door. Tina rushed to him, "Uncle!" The three uncles present felt a twinge of heartache-our little bunny!
Jared kissed Tina's forehead, "You've worked hard. Also, we've found your brother and the three with Griffin." Tina's eyes lit up, "That was quick?" "That's my turf," Jared teased, touching Tina's nose. "When do we move?" "Tonight," Tina smiled slightly, relieved that their long wait was finally ending.
Leo coughed a few times from his bed, "Alright, that's enough from you young folks." Jared laughed, "Leo, you're alright?" "I'm fine, now go on with your tasks, don't miss your chance." Leo waved them off, continuing his conversation with Ian.
