Chapter 574 Field Operations

Upon hearing a voice calling out to him, Sean saw Carla get out of the car. He promptly walked toward

her and said, "It's only been a couple of days since the last time I saw you, but why are you getting so

fat so quickly?"

"Can't you say something a bit nicer to your sister? I was a bit scrawny when I got back, so I'm now

trying to regain my health," Carla glared at him and answered.

"Oh, by the way, are you still busy preparing for your final exam? Do you have anything planned right

now?" she asked.

Seeing that Carla's condition was improving and she was becoming livelier and even appeared to be

glowing, a bright smile crept onto Sean's face as he turned to look at Terence.

"Terence sent someone over to pick me up. He told me that being holed up in my room and studying all

day long wouldn't be good for me. So, I should learn how to properly balance my time between study

and rest. I'm gonna head back to school this evening," he replied.

"Oh? So, you only planned to come over in the morning?"

Carla asked, turning her head to look at Terence who was standing on the other side.

The man, who was leaning against the SUV in such a graceful way with one hand in his pocket, was

giving her a wink.

Just as Carla was about to say something, she was stopped in her tracks by the noise of a car passing

from behind.

When she checked who it was, Carla saw William's car driving toward their direction. From the moment

he stepped out of his car, his eyes were glued to Violet who was busy getting her bag.

Given that she wasn't really expecting him to show up, Violet didn't have the chance to prepare herself.

Upon noticing that he was about to approach her, she planned to leave right away by grabbing her bag.

But William had immediately taken the initiative and stood in front of her.

"Violet, why don't you just stay longer since you're already here?"

As he stood in front of her, William shot Carla and Terence as well as everyone else with them a

glance. Then, he went on and suggested, "Violet, there's a lot of other people here today, so let's not

make it just about you and me. Even though we broke up, I don't see anything wrong with us meeting

each other from time to time as friends. What do you say?"

Shaking his hand off of her, Violet retorted, "Stop screwing with me! Have you seen people who broke

up spending time with each other every now and then?"

It was obvious that she had no intention of doing that. They had hurt each other a lot, so it was rather

hard for both of them to face each other in a calm manner.

"I guess you're right. Well, how about this? Let's just make peace and let bygones be bygones. We only

had a falling-out back then, but it's all in the past. Now, it's time for us to move on." William stated as he

held her hand and pulled her toward the group, not giving Violet a chance to say anything back.

"Terence, it's time for us to enter the field since everyone is already here," he said.

While they were having that little argument, Theo and his friends had already arrived and were just

waiting inside the car.

Turning a blind eye to Violet's unwillingness to cooperate, William declared, "The two of us are a team,

Violet."

"Don't get too cocky! I'm going to join Carla's team," Violet exclaimed in complete refusal as she

desperately tried to look for Carla.

"Carla and Terence are in a team, so what the role do you intend to play? The third wheel?"

William asked, chuckling a little as he held her hand and walked inside.

They had reserved the entire field, which was about half of the mountain for this afternoon.

Right next to the ground for field operations, there were hunting grounds where they could enjoy a

picnic together in the evening before heading straight home.

"For the time being, you shouldn't worry yourself about them too much. If William is unable to win her

heart, then a future of them being together would be completely out of the question," Terence said.

Inside a private changing room.

Terence tried to calm Carla down, who seemed to be feeling so on edge while he was changing.

"You don't understand. What I'm anxious about is whether Violet is angry with me or not for bringing her

here," Carla said.

Everyone else besides her knew the plan in advance. All of them wanted to create an opportunity for

those two to be back together again, but Violet is the only one who knew nothing about it.

Walking right next to her, Terence lightly flicked her forehead and told her, "You shouldn't waste your

time thinking too much about it. If Violet is smart enough, then she'll understand that you're only doing

this with her in mind.

For now, come here and get changed already."

After saying that, Terence, who was already wearing camouflage grabbed Carla's uniform and was

considerate enough to lend her a hand in disrobing.

As her mind was still much too preoccupied with other things, Carla failed to notice the hands that had

been feeling up her waist. A few moments later, she started to feel weird, so she looked down to check

what on earth was happening.

In an instant, her face became red-flushed because of embarrassment.

"Terence, I know that people usually disrobe using their hands, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone

use his mouth to take their clothes off..."

The night before, Sally was so insistent on sleeping with Carla, so Terence couldn't get a chance to

make love to Carla at all despite being so eager to do so. For that reason, he was now probably raring

to fool around with her.

"What do you think? Do you wanna give it a try? Let's see if I can actually do it."

With his eyebrows raised in excitement, Terence looked straight into her eyes with a smug look on his

face. Then, he proceeded to try undressing her using only his mouth.

Carla wanted to shove him away, but as soon as she took a step forward, she accidentally touched his

lips.

The warmth of his charming lips seemed to have brought her to cloud nine, as she almost lost control

of her emotions, to the point that she let out a soft moan. However, in just a split second, she managed

to pull herself together by biting her lip and she pushed him away.

Right then and there, she grabbed her uniform and got changed before Terence could start anything

else.

Terence watched her in silence, but with an air of amusement in his eyes. That sound she let out earlier

made him long for her body even more.

"Come on, we shouldn't keep everybody waiting!"

Grabbing his hand, Carla reminded him and dragged him outside the changing area.

When they got out of the changing room, they noticed that almost everyone had already put on their

uniforms and were done getting dressed.

Carla was actually the last one to come out. And because she was still a bit red-faced due to what

happened earlier, it attracted everyone's attention, making them give her strange looks.

Giving them a loud playful whistle, Theo went ahead and asked, "Carla, why are you blushing? Were

you fooling around with Terence inside?"

"Shut up! Or I'll make sure you'll be the first one to be taken out,"

Terence warned him as he was passing by.

Hearing this, Theo stopped at once.

There were quite a lot of people with them this time around.

Terence and Carla were part of a team, while Theo and his friends were team members as well. On the

other hand, William and Violet, and with Nathan and Sean were a part of their respective teams.

Apart from that merry bunch, Terence invited a few of his former comrades, whom he got along quite

well with during his time in the army. Otherwise, it would be plain to see what the outcome was going to

be.

That being said, Carla was completely in the dark as to what the real purpose of today's event really

was.

The men who were standing tall were not merely Terence's friends, they had actually been sent by

Grandpa Nicholas to observe and test Sean's abilities.

The man Grandpa Nicholas was choosing was going to be his successor in the army, so he couldn't be

making any decisions so hastily.

For that reason, he thought about arranging a series of tests for Sean.

As for Rainer, he was put in charge of monitoring the whole field and taking care of their provisions.

It was a considerably large area, so even though there were staff on-site taking charge of the

monitoring, they thought that it would be a good idea to have Terence's personal staff to be in charge of

it himself.

"Terence, are you serious about this?"

Carla worriedly asked. Originally, she thought they just came to have a bit of outdoor fun, such as

mountain climbing among other things. Although she saw nothing wrong with playing shooting games,

it just seemed a bit too professional for her.

"Why, of course! We have to be serious even if it's just a game. But most importantly, we're here to

have some fun! What's the matter, honey? Are you scared that you might lose while you're with me?"

Terence asked her.

The game was just getting started, so every team went on their separate ways to look for the perfect

place to hide. The actual competition would begin in 10 minutes.

"No, not really. I just think that it looks a bit too serious. Your friends from the army in particular. They're

still serving in the army, so wouldn't we be much too weak to compete on an equal footing with them?"

Carla blurted out as she was moving forward. After that, she found out that Theo had already occupied

the fortress right in front of them.

"Why don't you try to ease up a little? I've already asked them to take it easy on us and not to take the

game too seriously," Terence said, trying to give her a sense of assurance. Realizing how worried she

was being, Terence wanted to calm her down. After all, it wouldn't be any fun if they were to get

defeated at the very beginning of the game.

Meanwhile, on the other side.

William managed to find a secret place as he was holding onto Violet. So, they went ahead and sat

down to conceal themselves. Now, it was beginning to really feel like a group battle.

Caught completely by surprise, Violet was rendered speechless for a second and then turned to look at

him.

"How did you find out about him? Who told you about it? Tell me. Was it Carla?"
