Loving My Brother’s Best Friend

“I’m going to meet her to ask her why she isn’t with me.” He hurled the cigarette and left for her house.

He halted his bike in front of her house and dashed directly into her room, not in the right state of mind to think about Ethan.

He was about to do something out of anger that he would later regret greatly.

She was about to call him when he stormed into her room and harshly grabbed her arm before asking her, “why the fuck weren’t you answering my calls and messages?”

She just froze in her place, seeing the rage in his eyes, but he didn’t bother.

“Tell me, why the fuck weren’t you answering me?” He asked again, yanking her closer to himself, giving her deadly glares, while she just stared at him, startled a little, and her heart cried from within, seeing him so angry.

She didn’t understand what happened to him. Why was he behaving so rudely to her?

“Co-Cole,” she stammered, no word was coming out of her mouth because she was frightened to see him so angry for the first time. It seemed like anger had possessed him.

“I assume that my importance to you has diminished with time. Now you don’t love me as you did in the past, and it hurts.” He was yelling in a rage, and she was shaking her head, tears streaming down her cheeks. It directly pierced her poor heart, and she lost her balance as she listened to his harsh words.NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.

How could he doubt her undying love for him?

She didn’t understand suddenly what happened to him. Why was he thinking all this? She wanted to explain to him but he wasn’t letting her speak a word even. His words were hurting her because he was assuming everything in the wrong way.

‘What he’s saying my love for him is diminished with time. He’s so damn wrong. My love for him has only gotten stronger over time. I have always loved him more as time passed. I want to explain to him but I don’t know why he isn’t listening to me.’ She cried, wondering.

“Cole-” She was about to place her palm on his cheek and explain to him how much she loved him and how much his words were hurting her, but got startled as he slightly pushed her palm from his cheek and glared at her, cutting her words off.

“It is true that after acquiring something, its worth decreases.” He said, slightly pushing her away from himself. Her tears were falling like rain from her eyes. She had the sensation as if someone was removing her heart from her body after listening to his words.

“Oh God, Cole, you’re thinking so wrong,” she tried to place her hand on his face and make him understand, but he jerked her hand.

He shouted, cutting her words, “no, now I’m thinking right. I know in the end you’ll also leave me like my mom. I was mistaken, that you’re different, but you’re also the same.”

She cried, squeezing her eyes shut after listening to his words. His words were like someone repeatedly stabbing a knife into her heart. Her anguish could not be expressed in words. She loved him more than she loved herself; she had yearned for him; how could he think she would leave him?

When she opened her eyes, he wasn’t there. She rushed out of the room and saw him marching out of the house. She ran after him and when she reached out, he had already left on his bike. She felt as if her soul had been ripped out of her body. She felt empty because he was her entire world.

She sobbed, standing outside. His words were ringing in her ears and spinning her mind. She didn’t understand what was the reason for his sudden outburst. She wanted to know. She was sure that there was something big, that’s why he was so angry.

She came back to her room and constantly started calling him, crying.

‘I don’t understand why he is so angry with me. Why is he thinking that I don’t love him anymore? Why is he thinking that I’ll leave him? What if he leaves me because of this fear? No, no, I won’t let this happen. I can’t lose him.’ She was wondering, restlessly walking across the room.

Suddenly she started panting because of, taking over-stress about him. She always became unwell at the mere thought of living without him whenever he left her like that.

The next moment, she became unconscious.

Ethan stepped into Reyna’s room and freaked out as he saw her lying down unconscious on the floor. He hurried to her and carried her to bed before calling the doctor.

The doctor informed him that she had become unconscious because of over-stress.

“I don’t know why she has so much stress during the exams,” Ethan murmured, staring at her anxiously, but he didn’t know the real reason for her stress. It was Cole. She needed him to get better. He was the source of her pain, and he was only her healer.

Ethan’s phone rang up. It was Cole’s call.

“Hey, could we meet?” Cole asked him. He was standing on the balcony and still smoking.

He didn’t even realise how much he had hurt his kiddo because of his rage.

“Cole, Reyna isn’t fine.” After listening to Ethan’s words, his heartbeat accelerated with fright, and he froze in place as reality hit him hard.

His mind finally went in the right direction, and he cursed himself under his breath. ‘FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!’ In my rage, I badly hurt my kiddo.

How the fuck can I treat her like that?’

“What happened to her?” He asked, apprehensive about her.

“When I came back home, I found her unconscious. The doctor informed me that she fainted because of overstressing.” After listening to his words, he felt a sharp pang of remorse.

“I don’t know why she takes so much stress during the exams. Are you there, Cole?” He asked, getting no response from him.

“Hmm. Don’t worry, I’m coming to you.” He disconnected the call as he wasn’t in the state to talk to him, the guilt of shouting at her without any fault of hers was killing him.

“Fuck! I always hurt her in my anger. I promised her that I would never make her cry. How could I break my promise? I hate myself.” He shouted at himself, grasping the railing so firmly as if he wanted to break it.

He left to meet her. He just wanted to make everything fine and make his kiddo alright.

As he realised that what he had said to her was in a fit of rage, he was in great remorse. He was feeling like killing himself for hurting her with his words.

“Fuck, already she was taking so much stress from her exams and, instead of releasing her stress, I chided her without any fault of hers. She loves me like a crazy person, and what I said. Fuck you, Cole. You should be punished for treating her like that. I’m never going to forgive myself for shouting at my kiddo.” He was scolding himself the whole way.

‘She is so innocent that she takes all of my anger, not even for once she yelled at me. She has a pure heart like crystal, and I hurt her so badly with my words. How could I hurt my kiddo like this?’ He wondered, shaking his head.

He halted the bike and ran into her house. He dashed to her room and his eyes became moist, seeing her in the worst state. She was lying down with a dull face. Her worst condition was because of him and this thought was killing him from the inside.

She suddenly started breathing heavily as her eyes fell on him, all his harsh words started ringing in her head and the scene of him pushing her away started scaring her. Ethan didn’t understand what happened to her all of a sudden.

Cole couldn’t control him, he hurried to her and engulfed his kiddo in his protective arms because at that moment, no matter what, he just wanted to comfort his kiddo.
