He rubbed her back to calm her down and murmured in her ear, “now I’m with you, Kiddo, and I’m sorry.” Her ears were carving to hear these words from his mouth.

He was fighting back tears after seeing her like this because his heart was crying in pain, and the reason for her pain was only him; this guilt was slowly killing him.

She instantly calmed down, feeling his warm arms around her. It seemed like she got her breath back. She slightly slipped her hands into his jeans pockets, taking a deep breath of relief.

She couldn’t breathe properly if he wasn’t with her or if he was angry with her, and at that moment he was with her, his arms securely wrapped around her, all her stress vanished like magic, and she felt alive again. This was the power of true love.

Ethan also got his breath back after seeing his sister finally fine, but he was shocked by the way his best friend calmed down his sister. He had no idea that they both were deeply in love with each other and that Cole was the reason for his sister’s peace.

“No Cole! In fact, thank you for making her fine.” He uttered, placing his hand on his shoulder. He had complete faith in his best friend, which was why he didn’t doubt him.

“Sweetie, why are you getting so much stress because of the exam?” Ethan asked after sitting beside her and hugging her.

“It’s not in my control.” She murmured, looking at Cole from the corner of her eyes. She was feeling much better to see the love of her life in front of her eyes.

He mouthed, “sorry,” to her. She just stared at him with her sorrowful eyes.

“Now lie down and sleep,” Ethan said, kissing her forehead before lying her down properly.

Cole was just staring at her with deep guilt in his eyes.

“Cole, it’s too late, why don’t you stay here tonight.” Listening to Ethan’s words, he came back to the earth. “You can go to my room and sleep,” he suggested.

He wasn’t feeling like going from there, he just wanted to be with her, take her small fragile body in his protective arms, make her feel alright and say sorry to her for hurting her.

But he couldn’t sleep with her because of Ethan. He was feeling so helpless, he just felt like telling him everything, how much he loved his sister, but it wasn’t the right time to tell Ethan about their relationship.

“Okay.” He gave him a slight nod, his eyes glued to his kiddo. He was dying to make her feel alright and apologise to her.

After last time glancing at her, he finally left the room with a heavy heart. Reyna’s heartbeat accelerated again a bit as he left, and she hugged Ethan tighter.

“Sweetie, I’m not going anywhere, I’m staying with you.” He reassured her, caressing her hair; he just couldn’t see her like that.

Cole, on the other hand, was pacing restlessly across the terrace. He wanted to talk to her, console her, and apologise to her until she forgave him.

“Fuck! I hate myself, man! She loves me so much, and what have I done? I just shouted at her like an animal. I spoiled everything because of my anger. She doesn’t deserve me. I’m not worthy of her love.” He was scolding himself because he was extremely angry with himself and felt like killing himself for hurting his kiddo, even after knowing how sensitive she was. He was both the cause of her suffering and the one who could also make her feel better.

He was certainly going to punish himself for making his kiddo cry.

Reyna awoke in the middle of the night and instinctively reached for her phone, as if she knew he had messaged her.

She immediately climbed down from the bed and rushed to meet him, not thinking about anything.

She reached the terrace and saw him, standing facing his back to her. She ran to him and crashed into his body, wrapping her arms around him and holding him firmly. She felt like she got her breath back.

“I’m so sorry for making you feel like you’re not important to me anymore now. I’m sorry, I was just busy with my exams and nothing else.” She explained to him, crying, blaming herself.

He immediately turned towards her and shushed her, placing his finger on her lips. ‘How could she apologise to me when it was my fault? Why does she love me so much?’ He wondered, staring at her incredulously.

She loved him like no one else in the world. Her love was unconditional and selfless.

“Are you insane? Why are you apologising? Kiddo, it wasn’t your fault. I messed everything up. I’m sorry for yelling at you and saying mean things to you. Believe me, I didn’t mean anything I said to you. I was just angry about something else and, like an idiot, took it out on you. Please forgive me for causing such pain to you.” He clasped her face and cried in guilt, touching his face with hers.

“I’m so sorry, Kiddo, for hurting you this much.” He was constantly apologising to her, and then pressed his lips on her forehead.

“So you weren’t angry with me?” She innocently asked him.

He shook his head. “You never make me upset, baby. I can never get angry with you. You always fill my heart with joy.” He truly confessed, clasping her face.

“I thought you’d leave me. I got so scared.” Fresh tears trickled down her cheeks.

“I can never think of leaving you, not even in my dreams, and I’m so so sorry for making you feel like that.” He apologised, gently rubbing off her tears with his thumbs.

“It’s not your mistake, Cole. Somewhere I made you feel like that now you’re not important to me, that’s why you said this to me.” As she uttered, he shook his head in disbelief.

“No, are you crazy? I don’t think that, believe me. Nobody can love anybody in this world the way you love me, not even one percent of it. I know very well how important I’m to you, Kiddo. Please just forget whatever I said to you. Just take it out of your mind. I know you can do anything for me and I’m most important to you.” He explained to her, cupping her face.

“I love you so much, Cole. You have no clue how much I have yearned for your love and now I’m afraid to lose it. You’re still so important to me, and I’m falling for you a bit more every day.” She grabbed his collar and told him, still shedding tears and gazing at him with her innocent eyes that showed she loved him beyond anything.

He nodded, “I know, I know, my love. You don’t have to explain to me and don’t be scared, because now I can never stop my heart from beating for you. I’ll love you till my last breath, so don’t be afraid of losing me.” He kissed her forehead. A peaceful smile flashed on her face after listening to his pure confession.

They were each other’s happy place.

“But Reyna, don’t love me like this.” As he spoke, her brows narrowed in confusion. “I mean, please scold me when I’m wrong. Today it was all my fault, but still, you took all my anger silently. Moreover, you blamed yourself. Next time just please slap me when I shout at you without any fault. I want you to put some brain in my head when I do something wrong. I’m older than you, but I’m a complete idiot, you know that.”

“Hey, don’t call my hottie biker an idiot.” She warned him playfully, pointing her finger at him.

“No, he is a dumbass. He should be punished. Please punish me, Kiddo.” He implored.

“No, No, I can never punish my love, I can only love him.” After standing on her toes by raising her heels, she grasped his hair and kissed every inch of his face.

“Why do you love me so much, Kiddo?” He asked her in a disbelievable tone.

“If I get the answer, I’ll surely tell you.” She giggled and placed a kiss on his forehead before putting her heels down.

“I fucking love you so much, Reyna.” He cupped her face and softly kissed her lips before tightly hugging her so no one could separate them.

He was kissing her lips and face and hugging her, not getting satisfied to show her how much he loved her and would never leave her.

With each passing second, his feelings for her grew stronger.

On the other hand, Ethan woke up and he became anxious when he didn’t find Reyna sleeping beside him.

He climbed down from the bed, calling her.

He was apprehensively finding Reyna everywhere and reached the terrace, searching for her while Cole and Reyna were standing touching their foreheads, completely lost in feeling each other’s presence, which was giving immense peace to them.
