Rosa turned to look at the woman standing by the window. She recognized her as Wanda Allen, a manager from Hawking Technologies. "What are you doing here? Where's Ned? And why did you bring me home?" Rosa couldn't help but bombard her with questions. Wanda smiled gently. "Mr. Sowle sent me to take care of you, Ms. Reese. You fainted on the way here. A doctor just checked on you, and luckily, you're fine.

"However, you need to rest in bed for a couple of days. Mr. Sowle is still in a meeting dealing with some urgent matters at the company."

Upon hearing her words, Rosa's eyes widened in disbelief. "No, that's not right. Ned promised me we'd get married today. Nothing should delay such an important event, no matter what urgent matters there are."

"Marriage is indeed important, but your health is equally vital. Given your current condition, you shouldn't be getting out of bed. Mr. Sowle is busy today, and he can't be disturbed right now," Wanda explained softly.

"I need you to take me to see Ned. I have to go to the company," Rosa said, her anxiety rising as she tried to get out of bed.

Wanda frowned. "I'm sorry, Ms. Reese, but I can't take you. The company is facing unprecedented issues, likely due to the incident yesterday. Someone is trying to take advantage of the situation to acquire the company, and there are other serious problems to handle.novelbin

"Mr. Sowle has been busy since last night and hasn't stopped since. Moreover, with your condition, you can't afford any stress right now."

If it hadn't been for yesterday's sudden event, Hawking Technologies wouldn't be in such a crisis today.

People in the company had always thought Rosa was a bit overdramatic. Although the news was currently sympathetic toward her, those who frequently interacted with her felt she was going too far.

Even if there were issues, she shouldn't have resorted to extreme measures like threatening to jump off a building to force Ned to marry her. There were certainly better ways to address the situation, yet Rosa had chosen the most drastic route. Although the third party involved was detestable, some around her felt something was off about this whole situation.

They had never heard of or seen this person before. It was strange how they had suddenly appeared.

Rosa was taken aback. "There's an issue? What could possibly be wrong? Isn't the company gearing up for an IPO? If Ned and I get married today, it would be a perfect PR opportunity. All the news would serve as free advertising for the company."

This situation would only harm those who deserved it, like Skylar. Everyone else would benefit.

Rosa didn't seem like someone suffering from depression.

Meanwhile, the crowd had been waiting for three or four hours, almost to the point of the staff finishing up their shifts.

Ned and Rosa had yet to appear, and murmurs filled the air.

Many people had already left. At this point, the absence of both meant there would likely be no marriage.
