Who Payed You?
Amelia arrived at the gate of the mortuary but she didn’t get off the taxi just then.
She took out her phone and dialed Alexander’s number which was immediately answered.
“All set??” She asked and Alexander hummed.
“All good!”Alexander looked around from his car.
Amelia sighed “What if we’re just overthinking things??”
“Then that will be good news!” Alexander replied calmly, he didn’t want to experience the fear he felt when he found Amelia in that dark and cold basement, looking pale and cold.
It was much better than they were just exaggerating and Lowering their guards and then Amelia’s father took them by surprise.
Amelia got out of the car after ending the call.
She directly walked in with a tulip in her hand and a bottle of incense.
She gazed around as her mind kept beating.
Alexander watched through the rear mirror, A man pushing a truck passed by his car and Raised his cap to look at the Car Alexander was in.
They both locked gazes before the man dropped his head and walked past his car.
Alexander typed a message to someone and he slowly drove away to a distance.
Amelia took out her phone and called Luke.
“Hello, Dad where are you guys?? Thought you’d be waiting at the gate for me??!” Her suspicions had already risen to the maximum as she looked around.
Because it was daytime, she couldn’t see the red small and narrow light pointing directly at her head.
It seems to be revolving around because of how Amelia kept making turns.
Amelia was looking around as she held the phone close to her ear.
“Umm that, something came up and we couldn’t come, just go home already!” Luke said as he walked towards the small sofa in his sitting room and sipped from his coffee.
Marion and Jolie went out shopping as they had enough cash now to spend.
So the rest of their days would be brighter.
“Never knew you could be this despicable..” Amelia tried to sound calm as she plugged her free hand into her bag and placed her thumb finger on a small case that looked like a pen.
She brought it out as she placed her thumb finger on it.
“Dear daughter, you don’t have to be that silly, I’m your father and know what’s best for you…”
“You disgust me!” Amelia frowned as she looked in a particular direction and saw the sniper pointing directly at her.
There was a small wooden-like structure close to where she was standing, Amelia ran towards that direction and it seemed the sniper had already predicted that she would run into that structure, so the sniper fired in that direction.
Amelia had made only two steps before she diverted and ran zigzag along the tombstone as she headed towards the gates.
“Damn woman!” The sniper cursed as he realized that the small woman had only meant to fool him.
He kept shooting at random places as the bullets hit some tombstones and shattered them.
Amelia’s mind was in her throat as she tried to dodge and move from one tombstone to another.
But everywhere she went, the gun always seemed to go in that direction as the bullets damaged a lot of tombstones.
She ran towards the gate, but it was close by God knows who, she quickly ran in the opposite direction.
She had been here for some time, she came to this cemetery to visit her mother’s grave, that was before she got married, so she knew the ins and outs of this cemetery.
Amelia pressed on the Pen and it connected to the Ear phone on her ear her voice came out inaudible as she raced along.
“Where are you, Amelia?? Come towards the eastern part of the mortuary!” Alexander’s voice came from the other end, it seems whoever planned the ambush was good at it, his car’s brake was cut when he wasn’t aware.
So he had to be careful.
“Heading towards the eastern gates, there’s a sniper so please be careful!” Amelia climbed over a wall and jumped on the small boxes that were arranged as she bent her back as she ran along.
She tried to stay calm as she remembered her days back in the military, she wasn’t too overwhelmed because she had been through with this before.
Just when Amelia was about to reach towards the east, a bullet was shot at her arm and she groaned out loud and fell to the ground.
“There she is… get her!” A man’s voice rang as the sounds of footsteps approached Amelia.
Amelia quickly got up to run but it was already too late as the man held her hand and dragged her up.
Amelia was so angry as she glared at the six men in front of her, she roamed her eyes at their bodies and began to observe them.
“Ah acting so tough a few minutes ago huh?? Damn you little wench”The man cursed at Amelia as he grabbed her hair.
“So fierce and hardcore,” A Guy said from their midst.
The man holding her hair took out his phone and dialed a number “We have her Already!”
After listening to the person from the other side, he hummed and ended the call.
“They want her at the location!”
Amelia didn’t budge as she looked at them closely.
Them??
Ash must be involved and her so-called dad and his bastard family, were all accomplices but how did Ash get them to work with her…..
Amelia could only imagine it, if not money, there was nothing else!
Her father was a very greedy man who could do anything for Those notes that had the portrait of Benjamin Franklin on the front of the note and a vignette of Independence Hall on the back of the note.
Bunch of $100 notes!!!
“Get moving or we take you by force and don’t blame us for being rude by then!”
Amelia snorted at them “So boring… I wanna see you try!”
Amelia said with no hint of fear in her, she wasn’t holding onto her injured arm as she took her hand back and pressed on the pen to connect with Alexander.
“You fool, trying to act tough is not gonna do you any good!” The man said as he grabbed her injured arm and she hissed in pain.
“Who paid you to come after me!??” Amelia said with gritted teeth “This is the gate at the east so be fast to quickly take me away!”
The last statement was a code Alexander had taught her.
It was simply telling him her location.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
