The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 207

Chapter 207

Ronan whispered into Cordelia's ear, "Could you swing by the mall across the street and grab me some

pants?"

Cordelia nodded, "Sure thing."

His pants were indeed wet, making him feel a bit awkward.

"What type do you need?" Cordelia asked.

"Just something wearable. Pay with the card." Ronan replied.

Cordelia nodded again, stood up, apologized to everyone, and then left the room. Jamie's gaze

followed her out. Ronan watched all this without showing any emotion.

"Adrian, if you ever run into trouble, you can count on me," Ronan said to Adrian.

"Ronan, we're gonna be family. I'm gonna down this one, even though I'm engaged, the wedding's still

a ways off. The engagement already cost an arm and a leg, and the wedding won't be cheap either."

Adrian started to brazenly ask for money, and he seemed a bit drunk, "Also, I'm thinking about starting

my own company. Could you maybe invest a bit?"

The room fell silent, Jamie tried to reel Adrian in, but Adrian insisted on asking Ronan for money.

Cordelia walked into the room with a shopping bag. "Got 'em," she gently patted Ronan's shoulder from

behind.

"Quiet! I'm discussing something with Ronan." Adrian told Cordelia.

"Adrian!" Although Cordelia didn't hear what Adrian just said, she could guess what he was saying.

"Quiet, Cordelia, you just need to focus on making money." Adrian probably had one too many, he even Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

started to call Cordelia a "money machine".

"Adrian!" Cordelia's face turned bright red. She felt her dignity was being trampled on.

Adrian pointed at Cordelia, "Don't raise your voice at me! Samantha told me you're not Mom's

biological child, what right do you have to yell at me? And don't scare the baby in your sister-in-law's

belly."

"How much do you want?" Ronan asked, smiling, but his gazes were as cold as ice.

However, Adrian only saw his smile. Adrian stretched out his hand, "This much."

Cordelia thought to herself, Adrian had lost his marbles. He was asking for five million!

"You're out of your mind!" Cordelia scolded Adrian sternly.

Adrian pushed Cordelia away, almost knocking her down, "Move." Adrian was clearly drunk; he even

forgot how he got to where he was today. His attitude towards Cordelia became very rough.

"Alright, I'll give it to you when you get married," Ronan said.

"Ronan, you're a real pal! It's a deal." Adrian, drunk as a skunk, gave Ronan a hearty pat on the

shoulder.

Ronan lightly brushed off his shoulder.

After Adrian pushed Cordelia away, Ronan kept his eyes on him. Adrian started to shiver immediately.

Ronan didn't say a word, but Adrian already felt a chill, barely holding onto his glass.

"Cordelia, talk to Mr. Evans if you got something to say." After saying this, Adrian retreated to his seat.

Once he sat down, he realized he was covered in cold sweat.

Cordelia didn't see the look in Ronan's eyes just now because she was standing behind him. Ronan

turned his head and saw the shopping bag in Cordelia's hand.

"Go change in the bathroom."

Ronan stood up and said to Cordelia, "Come with me."

Cordelia worried that if she didn't go, he would deliberately flirt with her and make Jamie feel

uncomfortable. So she followed him.

There was a bathroom in the private room, Cordelia helped Ronan take off his shoes and pants,

saying, "Don't be mean to my brother."

"Why?" Ronan pretended to be clueless and asked Cordelia.

"Just don't."

Cordelia couldn't express her inner unease; she just felt very anxious. She had a feeling that the better

Ronan treated Adrian, the bigger the problem became, and the more serious the hidden issues

became. Because she could already sense Ronan's anger, but he had been holding it in, deliberately

creating problems for Adrian.

"Is it wrong to be kind to my family? How should I defend myself?" He chuckled sarcastically, a laugh

that was hard to comprehend.

At this moment, she was still squatting in front of Ronan, helping him adjust his underwear. "The nicer

you are to him, I'm afraid he will..." Before Cordelia could finish, Ronan suddenly pushed her head

down.

Cordelia's words got stuck in her throat. She could only hear the noise Adrian was making outside, and

Kendra's hypocritical voice, "What's taking your sister and Mr. Evans so long?"

When Cordelia stood up from the ground, her face red with anger, she muttered "bastard" and then

stormed out. Then Ronan finished dressing himself and came out.

Jamie saw the two of them come out one after the other, and seeing Cordelia's red face, he knew what

had happened. Jamie felt even more hopeless.

Shelley was already feeling awkward; hearing Adrian's angry words, she felt she hadn't taught this child

well. Adrian had completely embarrassed her.

"Does Jamie have a girlfriend?"

"Not yet."

"What type of girl does he like?" Shelley asked gently.

"Emm..."

Kendra glanced at Jamie and joked, "Mom, you might not know this, but Jamie likes girls like Cordelia,

especially Cordelia. Too bad she already has a boyfriend."

After Kendra finished, she glanced at Ronan. He was staring at his coffee cup, mindlessly fiddling with

it.

"Huh?" Shelley instantly felt that asking this question was a total bummer, as it just paved the way for

Kendra to stir things up.

Kendra just loved to create a ruckus.

"No worries. I'm going abroad by the end of the year." Jamie said, with a hint of regret in his voice.

"Going abroad? That's great." Shelley could only gloss over it like this.
