The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 401

Chapter 401

A week had passed since Cordelia’s departure, and Ronan was still grappling with the aftermath.

Emerson noticed his distress.

“What’s up? Are you feeling down?”

“How could I not be? She’s gone to study abroad again,” Ronan leaned back in his chair, his tone flat.

“It's good that she wants to study, definitely better than those women who only know how to spend

money,” Emerson retorted. “Some women are so clueless they’d stab their own husbands. Be grateful

for a knowledgeable woman. Grant is still trying to catch his breath.” All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Ronan responded with an indifferent snort, ignoring the remark about Grant.

Emerson was scrolling through his phone as he spoke, then his brows furrowed. “Wait, why has

Cordelia blocked me on Facebook?”

“You must’ve ticked her off,” Ronan joked.

He opened Messenger to ask Cordelia why she’d blocked Emerson, but before he could send the

message, she had sent one. [I’m gone. Don’t look for me.]

Ronan’s brow furrowed in confusion, he quickly replied, [What do you mean?]

Before he knew it, he was on Cordelia’s blocked list as well. A feeling of dread washed over him.

He tried calling Cordelia, but her line was disconnected. He then called their American branch, urging

them to check on Cordelia’s whereabouts.

Ronan tried every way possible to contact Cordelia. He even messaged her roommate, Taylor. Taylor

responded, [No idea. I woke up to a note from Cordelia saying she was gone. No clue where to.]

Taylor even sent him a picture of the note. [Taylor, my dear roommate, I'm gone. Thank you for taking

care of me. Cordelia.]

Soon, the American branch called back, saying Cordelia had withdrawn from school, and her

whereabouts were unknown.

That was when Ronan understood the gravity of the situation. He belatedly remembered Cordelia's

silent resolve before she left. She must've made up her mind, meticulously planning her departure.

Ronan remembered "Allison’s" number from that note Alana left, but the line was dead when he tried

calling.

He visited the Azure View Hotel in search of Alana but was told she'd embarked on a global journey.

Her current location was unknown, and her phone was switched off.

Then, the police called him. "Mr. Evans, the Shelley case files you copied, you must destroy them once

you're finished. Did your assistant tell you? Just remembered it's against our policy!"

Suddenly, it clicked. Cordelia had seen it!

All Ronan knew was that Cordelia had discovered the truth about her mother's death. He was unaware

that Tabitha's pregnancy was another blow to Cordelia.

Clenching his fist, he cursed Cordelia's ruthlessness.

He traveled to America, but Cordelia's apartment was spotless as if she'd never lived there. He

remembered her studying at her desk, her glasses perched on her nose. He remembered...

He asked Taylor, but she didn't know anything. Taylor even blamed Ronan, "Cordelia was fine in

America. The moment she comes back from Millstone, she disappears. It's your fault! You slept with

Tabitha. You are a cheating bastard. Men, you're all the same!"

With that, Taylor slammed her door shut.

Ronan clenched his teeth. He never took the issue with Tabitha seriously, assuming Cordelia wouldn't

believe it.

Cordelia didn't just disappear; she planned this, ensuring no one could find her, especially Ronan. She

was purposely avoiding him!

Before she left, Ronan pleaded with Cordelia, but she didn't care. She left without a second glance.

In this age of technology, finding someone wasn't difficult, but if Cordelia didn't want to see Ronan,

then...

He had to let her go.
