The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 467

Chapter 467

Cordelia thought to herself, “Alana really has her fingers on the pulse of things. It's as if she's been

there.”

“Who is the father of Tabitha’s child?” Cordelia asked again.

“Tabitha’s child is her brother’s. He had kidney disease and is now deceased. Jayson is the only heir in

her family, so naturally Tabitha had to protect him.” Alana spoke candidly.

Ronan already knew the truth about this matter. Given time, Cordelia would also know. There was no

use in deceiving her. Moreover, if Alana lied about this, Cordelia would start to doubt her words and

wouldn’t believe what she had said before.

To make Cordelia believe that Ronan was ruthless and always on the brink of criminality, Alana spoke

the truth this time.

Cordelia clenched her fists, suddenly feeling very frightened. What kind of man was her ex-husband,

considering what happened with her mother, Deanna, and Tabitha?

“Ms. Haselwood, when beauty fades, love races away. Think about how he will treat you one day when

you're old and he has a new flame. After all, even eighty-year-old men fancy twenty-something women.

Think about your mother,” Alana said.

Cordelia remained silent. She hadn’t thought about these things.

“Ms. Haselwood, aren’t you curious about how I know everything?”

Alana was indeed scarier than Cordelia had imagined. “But why are you targeting me?” Cordelia finally

asked what she had been pondering.

“Your biological mother, Allison, was my…”

“Stop,” Cordelia waved her off, “You think I’d believe that? My mother, the way she is?” Allison had not

called Cordelia once in the past three years, and offered no words of concern.

“Whether you believe it or not, it's the truth. So,” Alana stood up, pinched Cordelia's chin, and

scrutinized her, “you really do look just like her.”

“Who?” asked Cordelia.

“Allison, don’t you see it?” Alana said, “She stole my man back then, and now, it's your turn. Watch

your steps, or you might find your son Callum in a river one day. Look—”

She pulled out her phone and showed Cordelia photos of Callum. He was playing in the sand, having a

water gun fight with his friends, eating... A shiver ran down Cordelia’s spine.

“And, once you're with Ronan, your secret affair won’t remain a secret. Cordelia, you'll be alone for the

rest of your life.” Alana showed her more photos. Cordelia's brows furrowed. She was horrified not by

the threat of Alana showing these photos to Ronan, but by the means through which Alana had Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

obtained them.

“Cordelia, did you think your three years in England were simply stagnant? No, your life was colorful

because of a man named Eason. The two of you…” Alana swiped through the photos. In the photos,

Cordelia was lying on the treatment bed, Eason in a white coat sitting next to her, watching her fall

asleep. Eason gave Cordelia a teddy bear, which she adored. He found books she couldn’t get hold of,

and she was over the moon. Cordelia was crying in Eason’s arms.

These were mostly taken in Eason's clinic, where outsiders had no access. Yet, Alana had found out.

“Ms. Haselwood, you really are a charming lady, attracting gentlemen left and right. You have quite a

line-up. Well, I'll be going now.” With that, Alana left. Her movements were graceful and elegant,

belying her malicious intentions.

Just as the room fell into a chilling silence, Cordelia’s phone rang. Suddenly feeling reckless, Cordelia

thought: Since Alana already knew everything she had done, why not just throw caution to the wind?

She decided to openly acknowledge Callum, act as she wished, and stop tiptoeing around.

She was all in.
