Chapter 57 Brave Of Her
“I know you’re strong, but you’re still in danger. And if I can do something to help, I will.
He said that if I get what he wants, he would set you and your father free. I know Ramos isnt a man of his word, but I want you out of there safe and sound along with your father.” Alfredo said.
“I know, Alfredo. I know that you want to keep us safe and not allow anything to happen to us, but I want you to know that if you expose Carlos family to danger and they get killed, all that Carlos did would all be for nothing.” Raven said.
“Is he dead?” Alfredo asked.
“Mhm…” she answered.
“It was Ramos who killed him right? Alfredo asked.
“Mhm…” she answered.
“Shit! Shit!! Shit!!!” Alfredo yelled.
“So if you tell him where Carlos family is, he would get what he wants and kill them and all what we did would go to waste.
So don’t you worry about me, Alfredo, do what you need to do. I’ll find my way to get out of here and come to you. So don’t you worry.
Stick to your decision of not revealing anything.” Raven said, her voice firm.
“Alright…. I’ll do that.” Alfredo said.
“Put him back on the phone.”
Raven walked toward Ramos and handed the phone to him.
“He wants to talk to you.” Raven said.
Ramos took the phone and held it to his ear. “What is it now?” he asked, his tone impatient. He was clearly getting frustrated by Alfredo’s resistance.

“That’s not what we agreed on. I told you I would let Raven go if you gave me the information I want.” Ramos said, his voice angry.
“I’m not going to do that,” Alfredo said, his voice calm but determined. “I can’t put the lives of innocent people at risk.
Ramos was silent for a moment, as if he was considering his next move. Finally, he said, “Alright then. We’ll do this the hard way. You just made a big mistake, Alfredo.”
Alfredo felt a surge of fear at Ramos’s words, but he tried to remain calm. “What do you mean by that?” he asked, his voice steady.
“You’ll find out soon enough,” Ramos said. “I’m done talking to you. Goodbye, Alfredo.”
Before Alfredo could say anything else, Ramos hung up the phone. Alfredo felt a wave of panic wash over him. What had he just gotten himself into? What would Ramos do now? He felt helpless, and he didn’t know what to do next.
All he could do was hope that he had made the right decision, and that Raven and her father would be okay. He just hoped that he hadn’t just made a huge mistake.
Alfonso who had been listening to the conversation walked in.
“What you did right there was very brave. I was surprised actually. I thought you were going to give Carlos family away because of that chick, but seeing how you decided not too, that was really shocking.” Alfonso said.
“I would have Alfonso.” Alfredo said.
“You would have what Alfredo?” Alfonso asked.
“I would have given the Carlos family to Ramos, if it wasn’t for Raven. She told me never to allow Ramos have his way. She risked her own life to save theirs, Alfonso.
She did what I couldn’t. So don’t you dare talk bad about her.” Alfredo said.
Unknown to them, Carlos wife was eavesdropping on their conversation.
“Did she tell you anything about Carlos? If he’s alright?” Alfonso asked.
“Carlos…. is dead.” Alfredo revealed.
The news shocked Carlos wife that she dropped what she was holding which alerted the brothers to know that someone was eavesdropping on their conversation.
“Who’s that? Show yourself now!” Alfonso ordered.
Carlos wife slowly walked in revealing herself. Her eyes were already filled with tears at the news of the death of her husband.
“Is it true? Is it true that my husband is dead?” Carlos wife asked.
“I…. am.. sorry.” Alfredo said.
Sobbing uncontrollably….
“They killed my husband. Why? Why would they kill him?” she asked.
“Because he didn’t reveal your location to them. Carlos didn’t reveal anything to them because he felt it was the only way to protect you and your kids.” Alfredo explained.
Carlos’s wife’s sobs grew louder. She fell to her knees, her body shaking with grief.
“Why? Why did this happen?” she asked, her voice breaking. “Why did my husband have to die?”
“I’m so sorry,” Alfredo said again, feeling like he was at a loss for words. He knew that no words would be enough to comfort Carlos’s wife, but he wanted to try to help her in any way he could.
“How am I going to tell my kids?
Alfredo knelt down beside Carlos’s wife and put his hand on her shoulder. “I can’t even imagine what you’re going through right now,” he said.
“But you’re strong, and you will get through this. Your kids are lucky to have you, and you can be strong for them. You can help them through this.”
Carlos’s wife looked up at Alfredo, her eyes red and swollen. “I don’t know if I can do this,” she said.
“You can do this Mrs. Carlos.” Alfredo said
“Right now, your kids needs you more than ever. They need you to be brave for them and you need to be strong because your husband isn’t here anymore.”
She nodded.
“I will try to be brave and strong for them and not let anything or anyone touch my kids.” she said.
“Very good. We are here and we would never allow Ramos men harm you and your kids. You have my word.” Alfredo promised.
“I also heard what Raven did…. that was really brave of her.” she said.
“She doesn’t know me and I don’t even know her, but she was willing to sacrifice her life and father for me and my kids to be safe.”
