Chapter 5 New Queen
Hailey’s Point of View
After what happened last night, I am still lying in bed today.
Did I do the right thing or did I just make things worse?
I went down stairs, but it was weird because my friends weren’t here.
So I decided to go out first for a walk.
“Hailey.” I turned to see who had called me.
I turned around and someone pulled me into the backyard.
I say emphatically, “Kiel Scottberg.”
“I don’t need to introduce myself anymore because you already know me.” He says.
“Who doesn’t know the leader of the Dangerous Hunter Gang?” He smirked.
“Are you out of your mind?” He asked seriously.
“Why did you embarrass Headmaster Dracilus in front of the students?” He added.
“I just did what I knew was right.” He was shaken.
“By embarassing him, it’s as if you’ve already declared war.” I just smiled.
“I can’t stand to see my friends die.” He grabbed both my arms.
“You just impressed me even more, but did you think that if you got my admiration, it’s not impossible that many would be angry with you?” He reminds me.
“In this place, when you conscience to others, they will use that against you to defend them and you will be the one who gets hurt.” He insisted.
“Why don’t you ask yourself what kind of war you started?” I smiled bitterly at him.
“This place is not for the weak.” He said emphatically.
I was left standing here alone while the wind blew my hair.
The cool breeze of the wind seemed to embrace me. I want to feel the hug of a mother again.
Days passed and still nothing changed at all. There are always fights everywhere.
I am now walking near the dormitory. I noticed a group of students.
I was curious about what they were looking at, so I huddled with the students to get to the front.
“We are hiring a new queen of Vampire University.” I read the words posted on the bulletin board.
Everyone’s attention was taken away because of the speaker.
“Good morning to all students. Go to the training room. ” Headmaster Dracilus said.
I knew he was speaking because I already knew his voice.
“Let’s go to the training room!” One of the students said.
The student ran to the training room while I was still walking.
It’s been chaotic now here because they haven’t lined up.
“Raine’s already here.” The student next to me said.
“She’s no longer the queen.” She added.
I didn’t realize that the students were on the sidelines while I was in front of Raine.
“You bitch!” She pointed at me with her finger.
She shouted at me, “Don’t you know me? Get out of my way! ”
“I know you are the queen.” I said.
She boasted, “It’s good that you know me.”
“You’re the only former queen, and one more thing, the road is wide, so you left in front of me.” I said, and she was annoyed.
“Shut up!” She shouted angrily at me.
“You’re too rude. Don’t you have eyes? Can’t you see what’s written on the bulletin board, or do you still want me to read that for you? ” I asked angrily.
She insisted, “I can destroy what’s written there. I didn’t come down from my throne, so you have no right to embarrass me. ”
I said, “Damn it! You’re really crazy. ” Her eyes glazed over.
She suddenly grabbed my hair, so I grabbed her hair too.
I tightened my grip on her hair so she got on her knees.
“Learn to be respectful and stop being full of pride.” I said with a blank expression on my face.
I almost fell because someone pushed me.
“You really are a stealer!” Raine yelled at me.
“I’m not stealing anything from you.” Her face blushed even more with anger.
Someone was holding both my hands, so I couldn’t move.
She says, “It’s my turn.” Raine smiled like a devil.
She slapped me on my left and right cheeks.
“You apologize to me.” She commands me.
“I won’t apologize for trash like you.” My stubbornness.
She would slap me again, but someone suddenly spoke.
“Raine, slap her again and you will taste hell.” Everyone looked at the man who was speaking.
Not even one of the students attempted to speak.
“K-Kiel.” Raine stuttered.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
Kiel says, “Leave or die?” The students ran out.
“Kiel, punish her because she humiliated me.” Raine said.
“Raine Sanchez, I want you to kiss the floor.” We were shocked by Demon’s arrival here.
“Your punishment for me is not fair.” Raine insisted.
“Is it fair that you slap the woman who is qualified to be queen more times than you?” Everyone was amazed at what he asked.
“What do you mean?” Raine asked, surprised.
“Will you kiss the floor or will I kill you?” Raine glanced at me.
He quickly knelt down, and I was taken aback when she kissed the floor as the Demon had commanded.
“Now are you happy?” Raine asked.
She ran out of the training room with her friends.
Whether I want to speak or not, my throat feels dry.
“You’re the new queen of Vampire University.” Demon said.
I just showed him a blank expression. Demon started to walk but he stopped because I spoke.
“I don’t want to be the queen of Vampire University.” He gave me a cold look.
“Think carefully.” He said before quickly disappearing like a bubble.
I stood up and walked away from Kiel.
I can feel the sharp looks on me coming from the students.
What Demon told me earlier is still sinking into me. Why was I chosen to be the new queen?
I’m sure they had a plan so they did these things. I first went to the clinic to treat the wound on my face and lips.
I saw a nurse, but she couldn’t even look me in the eyes.
Maybe all the students already knew about what happened earlier.
