A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 827: Apology

Ranita didn’t bother arguing with him and gave her son a big hug.

“Ayaan, why are you here so early?”

Ayaan hugged her leg and said sweetly, “Mommy, it’s already eight-thirty. It’s not early at all!”NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.

“You and Daddy are sleeping in!”

Ranita wanted to explain herself, but Ayaan ran over to Brendon, his big eyes shining. “Daddy, are you feeling better?”

His little act made Ranita laugh.

After spending several days in the hospital, Ayaan had been with Brendon every day, and their father-son bond had significantly strengthened. The online uproar had gradually died down after a few days, as if it had never happened.

This was likely the result of joint efforts by the Murphy and Stuart families.

Ranita didn’t ask much about it.

The contract between Steland Monolith Technology and Shannon had been terminated, and Jedidiah had been urging her to return to Steland.

Seeing that Brendon’s condition had improved, Ranita agreed.

However, she didn’t tell Brendon about it. She knew that if she did, it wouldn’t be easy to take Ayaan back to Steland.

“Your appetite has been good lately. Eat more.” Ranita carefully removed the fish bones and pushed the plate full of fish towards him.

Brendon’s eyes showed a hint of amusement.

“You’re in a good mood today?”

“Not bad,” Ranita smiled. “After you finish eating, take a rest. I need to go out for a bit.”

Brendon instinctively asked, “Where are you going?”

“Gauss Technology,” Ranita said calmly. “I have an appointment with Makhi.”

An appointment with Makhi Terry? Is that why she’s in such a good mood?

Brendon bit into his fish as if he were gnawing on bones. “Haven’t you already finished your negotiations with Gauss Technology? Why are you going again?”

“It’s a business secret, can’t say more.” Ranita raised an eyebrow. “If you have nothing to do, go downstairs and get some sun.”

Brendon suddenly lost his appetite.

“Can’t you not go? Stay and sunbathe with me!” Brendon tried to act cute to keep Ranita from leaving, but she remained unmoved and firmly said, “I’m going for work, not for fun!”

“Don’t be so stubborn.” After a pause, Ranita added, “Go sunbathe later. It’s too hot in the afternoon.”

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

Accompanied by footsteps, a sweet voice called out, “Ranita, Brendon, it’s me…”

After many days apart, Shannon looked much better than before.

She wore a ladylike brand dress, paired with small heels and simple jewelry, looking fresh and radiant like a fairy descended from heaven.

Despite her usual thick skin, she held a bouquet of flowers and walked in as if she didn’t see Ranita’s slightly cold expression. “Am I interrupting your meal?”

Brendon nodded politely. “No, please sit.”

Shannon sat down unceremoniously on the other side of Brendon. As soon as she sat down, her eyes reddened. She said, “Brendon, thank you for not kicking me out.”

“Before… I was immature and made many mistakes. I’m here to apologize to you and Ranita.”

“I caused you a lot of trouble. Please forgive me.” Shannon bit her lip, her expression sincere and pitiful. For a moment, Ranita didn’t know what to say.

Ranita was skeptical.

She looked at Brendon, wanting to hear what he had to say.
